Cire: Reinterpreting Trudon’s fundamental values - ancient savoir-faire and commitment to excellence - the scented candle reveals a unique perfume: behind the amber-colored glass, a beeswax absolute. Bees and beeswax have always been at the heart of the manufacturer's history: since the 17th century, Trudon’s motto is “Deo regique laborant”, which means: “they (the bees) work for God and the King”.
About Trudon: The oldest candle maker in the world began in 1643 when Claude Trudon became the owner of a boutique on the rue Saint Honoré where he developed his activity as a grocer and candler. His candles were purchased to light parishes and homes. Thus, in the early days of Louis the 14th’s reign, Claude Trudon created a manufacturing company that would make his family’s fortune. Trudon supplied Versailles up to the last days of the Ancient Regime and in 1811 supplied Napoleon and his imperial court.
