Truileries: The Tuileries collection finds its inspiration in a rare document kept at the French National Archives: the Gazette des Atours de la Reine. In what seems like an ordinary notebook, countess Geneviève d’Ossun – a French courtier who served as lady-in-waiting and first maid of honor to Marie Antoinette – gathered many fabric samples used to tailor the sovereigns’ many dresses and royal outfits. Tuileries is the new floral fragrance based on the Queen’s favorite flower throughout her life: the rose.
About Trudon: The oldest candle maker in the world began in 1643 when Claude Trudon became the owner of a boutique on the rue Saint Honoré where he developed his activity as a grocer and candler. His candles were purchased to light parishes and homes. Thus, in the early days of Louis the 14th’s reign, Claude Trudon created a manufacturing company that would make his family’s fortune. Trudon supplied Versailles up to the last days of the Ancient Regime and in 1811 supplied Napoleon and his imperial court.
